Our Story

I'm Clay, Founder & CEO of OtterHalf. I started OtterHalf because I was tired of the superficiality of dating apps and the hookup culture that they promote. From algorithms designed to keep you paying to matches that never respond, I was fed up with the experience.

OtterHalf is truly different. It's a platform designed from the ground-up with your best interest in mind. A partner is one of the most important decisions you'll ever make. More than money or a house or a car, your partner will have the biggest impact on your life. And so, I created OtterHalf.

Wondering about the name? You probably already guessed it... it's because sea otters hold hands when they sleep so they don't drift apart. That image is just too cute to pass up. And it's a great metaphor for what we're trying to do here at OtterHalf. Otters are known for being playful, social, and excitable. (Lots of pun opportunities too!)
